Thailand eVisa Official Website: the Government Channel (US Travelers)
Short answer: The Thai government e-Visa channel is thaievisa.go.th (https://www.thaievisa.go.th/). Keep three roles clear: that Ministry site; a site that claims to be the Thai government and is not that site; and my-evisas.com, a disclosed private helper.

The government channel
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs presents thaievisa.go.th as the official Thailand e-Visa website. For US travelers, the Royal Thai Embassy in Washington, D.C. directs visa applications through that e-Visa portal.
Under the current system, applicants no longer mail the passport or original supporting documents for this e-Visa, and the embassy does not accept walk-in or drop-off visa filing at the moment. After approval, the confirmation arrives by email; print that confirmation for the airline and Thai immigration.

A site that pretends to be the government
If a site claims to be the Thai government or the embassy and is not thaievisa.go.th, treat it as not the government channel. A disclosed private company that says it is private help is a different case: it does not claim to be the Ministry site.
The practical boundary is the stickerless rule. For this e-Visa, applicants are not asked to mail a passport or original documents. So if a page calls itself the embassy and still asks you to send the passport by mail, that request does not match how this e-Visa works.
Before you pay a site that says it is the government, compare the address with https://www.thaievisa.go.th/.
TDAC is a different form
From 1 May 2025, all non-Thai nationals entering Thailand by air, land, or sea must complete the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) online within 3 days before arrival. That form is an immigration requirement; it is not a visa.

Do I still mail my passport to the embassy?
No. For this e-Visa, the Royal Thai Embassy and Consulate-General in the United States no longer require the passport or original supporting documents by mail or in person. After approval, print the confirmation email for the airline and Thai immigration.
Can I apply if I am already in Thailand?
No. The Royal Thai Embassy cannot issue a visa for a foreign national who is currently in Thailand. File before you travel. See the eVisa guide for timing.
