Short answer: The East Africa Tourist Visa (EATV) is a joint tourist visa for Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda only. Uganda’s immigration service: 90 days, tourism only (no employment), not renewable after it expires or after you leave that three-country block; the issuing country should be your first entry. Rwanda: US$100, 90 days, multiple entry while you stay in the three countries. Uganda lists the fee as USD 100. Kenya’s official 2025 fee schedule lists East African Tourist eTA at $100 — confirm the live amount on the official Kenya eTA portal. Tanzania is not in Uganda’s “Kenya and Rwanda ONLY” description. What is the East Africa Tourist Visa?

Uganda’s Directorate of Citizenship and Immigration Control calls it a Joint Tourist Visa. It lets you travel to Uganda, Kenya and Rwanda only, multiple times, for tourism. It prohibits employment.

Rwanda’s Directorate General of Immigration and Emigration describes the same idea: visitors who want to visit Rwanda, Kenya and Uganda simultaneously for tourism may apply for an East Africa Tourist Visa (EATV).

Kenya only, or Kenya plus Uganda and Rwanda?

Kenya Immigration still requires an approved eTA before the journey for visitors who use the Kenya eTA path. That Kenya-only product is what my-evisas.com can help with.

How to apply on official portals

Apply on the government portal of the country you will enter first (Uganda: “the issuing country should be your first entry point”; Rwanda: if you get the EATV before travel, first entry must be the country you applied through).

• Uganda: information and steps are on the East African Tourist Visa page — apply online through the Immigration portal listed there.
• Rwanda: Irembo EATV, upon arrival, or a Rwanda diplomatic mission (Rwanda DGIE).
• Kenya: the 2025 Immigration fee schedule published via KCAA AIC 14/25 lists East African Tourist eTA as a charged eTA type. Confirm the live product name and documents on the official Kenya eTA portal when you apply.

Uganda lists typical uploads: passport bio-data page with at least 6 months validity, recent passport photo, yellow fever vaccination certificate, return ticket, itinerary (documents in English; other papers may be requested). Rwanda: travel document valid not less than 6 months; a vaccination certificate may be required at the border.

Fees and validity

• Uganda: USD 100; granted for 3 months from the date of issue and not extendable within the country; 90 days and not renewable after expiry or after leaving the Kenya–Uganda–Rwanda block. Visa fees are non-refundable (Uganda).
• Rwanda: US$100; 90 days; multiple entry if you stay within the three countries.
• Kenya (fee schedule): East African Tourist eTA $100 (excluding payment charges), effective 1 January 2025 on AIC 14/25. Confirm the live checkout — do not treat a circular as your card charge.

You do not need a three-country EATV for a Kenya-only visit. Kenya Immigration: obtain an approved eTA before you start the journey, via the eTA website. The official portal commonly used is etakenya.go.ke.

Does the East Africa Tourist Visa include Tanzania?

Uganda’s official description is Uganda, Kenya and Rwanda ONLY. Confirm Tanzania separately on Tanzania’s official immigration channels.

Uganda: the issuing country should be your first entry point. Rwanda: if you obtain the EATV before travel, first entry must be the country you applied through.

Can I work on an East Africa Tourist Visa?
