Thailand eVisa Rejected or Not Granted: What US Travelers Should Do Next

Navigation: โ† Thailand hub ยท eVisa guide ยท Start on my-evisas.com

If you are facing a negative or incomplete Thailand eVisa outcome โ€” what the THAI e-Visa site and the Royal Thai Embassy in Washington, D.C. actually say about extra documents, rejection without a stated reason, non-refundable fees, and reapplying. my-evisas.com does not sell consulate / sticker walk-in filing. Follow your decision notice and contact the issuing Embassy or Consulate if the next step is unclear. Updated: 15 September 2026.

Short answer โ€” eVisa not granted: what now?

Read the email and dashboard carefully.

  • The Embassy or Consulate-General may request an interview or additional documents. Submission does not mean a visa will be granted.
  • Consular officers may reject an application without the obligation to provide justification.
  • Visa fees are non-refundable.
  • Information in a submitted application cannot be revised even by Embassy officers. If it is incorrect, you must reapply and pay again.
  • Apply around one month before travel. Processing times vary; check the e-Visa dashboard and your email for document requests.
  • If you are still eligible for an electronic visa, start on my-evisas.com or see the eVisa guide.
  • For official Embassy DIY wording, use the Visa Information and Common Questions / FAQs pages in Sources. The Embassy currently does not accept walk-in or drop-off for visa services.

Read the message โ€” extra documents, interview, or rejection

Start with your message. Official pages distinguish at least:

What you see Meaning Next step
Email asking for additional documents or an interview Application is still under review Follow the Embassy/portal instruction; extra documents can be requested
Dashboard still updating Check whether required documents and payment are complete; review the status and any email requests Sign in on the e-Visa system; the Embassy does not check status for each individual
Rejection Officers may reject without giving a justification Fee already paid is not refunded. Follow the decision notice and ask the issuing Embassy or Consulate about any available next step. If still eligible, a new application may be appropriate

If a third-party blog describes a government โ€œeVisa appeal desk,โ€ ignore it unless it appears on the Embassy or THAI e-Visa pages you check yourself.

Fees are not refunded

THAI e-Visa: visa fees are non-refundable. Submission does not mean a visa will be granted.

The Embassy likewise states the visa fee is non-refundable. Current category requirements and the fee-checking route are explained in the eVisa guide. Confirm the government amount on the official portal before payment.

Incorrect information โ€” reapply and pay again

The Embassy FAQs: information in your application cannot be revised or overridden manually even by the Embassy's officer. If it is incorrect, you must reapply for a new visa and pay again.

On the Visa Information page, common mistakes that can lead to denial include:

  • First, middle, and last name not exactly as in the passport
  • Digit โ€œ0โ€ instead of letter โ€œOโ€ (auto-fill / OCR)
  • Passport expiration date entered incorrectly

Mismatch information will be rejected because officers cannot edit what the applicant entered; you re-submit and the fee is non-refundable. This is data accuracy, not a photo-spec encyclopedia.

When a new eVisa application may make sense

A new electronic application may make sense when:

  • You remain eligible for the e-Visa path (confirm on the live form and Embassy pages)
  • The issue looks fixable (for example a name/date mismatch you can enter correctly the next time)

Restart with help on my-evisas.com for the eVisa path only, and only if you are still eligible.

Embassy path is official DIY โ€” not sold here

The Embassy FAQs: all visa applications must be submitted through the e-Visa portal. Applicants no longer mail documents. The Embassy does not accept walk-in or drop-off for visa services at the moment.

my-evisas.com does not sell sticker / consulate walk-in filing. For official DIY, use the Embassy pages above. Country hub: Thailand hub.

FAQ

What if my Thailand eVisa is rejected?

The fee is not refunded. Officers may reject without providing justification. Follow the decision notice and ask the issuing Embassy or Consulate about your options. If you are still eligible, you may reapply (and pay again).

Is there an eVisa appeal?

The cited general guidance does not set out an appeal procedure. This does not establish that no review option exists in your case. Follow your decision notice and ask the issuing Embassy or Consulate before paying for another application.

Can I re-apply?

If your information was incorrect, the Embassy says you must reapply and pay again. If you remain eligible, a new electronic application may be appropriate.

Will extra documents or an interview be requested?

They may be. Follow the email/dashboard. That is not the same as a finished grant.

Will my-evisas.com file a sticker visa after a rejection?

No. Assisted filing is for eVisa only, and only if you are still eligible. Walk-in / drop-off is not currently accepted at the Embassy for visa services.
