How to use an issued ETA and prepare for travel

An issued ETA is valid for travel for 12 months or until the linked passport expires, whichever comes first. Each visit must continue to fit the permitted ETA purposes and conditions. The ETA cannot be extended, so a traveler who wants to remain longer must obtain a different visa suited to that stay.
