How much does an Australia ETA cost?
For eligible passport holders — including the United States of America — Home Affairs charges a AUD20 service fee to use the Australian ETA app. That is the full government charge for an ETA: there is no separate visa application charge on top of it.
The app itself is free to download from the Apple Store or Google Play. You pay the AUD20 when you complete the application in the app, using a valid payment method.

What's included in the government fee
The AUD20 covers use of the Australian ETA app to lodge and pay for your Electronic Travel Authority (subclass 601) application. It is not an airport fee, a stamp fee, or a charge you pay again on arrival.
